The Scituate Light guidebook (pp 24, $5.95 plus $5.00 S&H) tells
the story of one of the country's most storied beacons, Scituate Lighthouse
on Cedar Point in Scituate, Massachusetts. In the telling it weaves in many
of the high points in Scituate's history:
- The famous tale of Scituate's "Army of Two," the
teenage daughters of first light keeper Simeon Bates, who scared off
a British invasion.
- The wreck of the freighter Etrusco and the origins
of Scituate's Etrusco Associates

the best selling book in Acadia's line in 2000. Every page is a pictorial
display of scenes of old Scituate, scenes now mostly long gone.
