The Scituate Historical Society has a variety
of merchandise available. Specially commissioned Pairpoint Company suncatchers
of Lawson Tower
and Scituate Light, note cards, postcards, tote bags and mugs are but
a few of the items in stock. Gicleé and poster reproductions of
Thomas Lawson's "Minot Poem" can be ordered.
- Boston's South Shore - a Photographic
Portrait ($24.95 plus $5.00 S&H) This exquisite full color photographic record
covers Boston's South Shore communities of Hingham, Cohasset, Scituate,
Norwell, Marshfield, Duxbury, Kingston, and Plymouth. These 164 color
images have been selected from over 600 photographic entries. They
portray the diverse settings, activities, ocean and landscapes that
have made the South Shore so enticing for over four centuries

deliver a word picture of what you are looking at, important historical
and human aspects of why the look and feel of the South Shore is beloved

- History of Scituate, Massachusetts by Samuel
Deane ($29.95 plus $5.00 S&H). Called "the definitive history of Scituate." Published
in 1831. From the preface "The reason for a more thorough and copious
history than had hitherto emerged may be found in the facts, that
it was one of the earliest settlements in New England, that it took
the lead in population, and bore an important part in the civil and
military affairs of Plymouth Colony, that it has produced eminent
characters, and furnished colonists for peopling more recent settlements
in many States of the Union."

about the town during the 1800's...the Irish immagrant group which
evolved here found a unique way in which to establish themselves as

the Chief Justice Cushing Chapter of the Daughters of the Revolution
in 1921. The fourth edition published in 2000 by the DAR Chapter and
the Scituate Historical Society. From the foreword - "The contents
of this volume represent, in part, the historical papers collected
by the Chief Justice Chapter of the DAR...to make use of the more
historical facts which mark the milestones among the wars of the town's
history."
